Welcome to the Peak District National Park…
The Peak District National Park offers a great opportunity to experience a weekend or week long cycling holidays. Its scenery is striking for the beauty and variety, offering stunning landscapes, small and quaint villages and market towns, stately homes such as the renowned Chatsworth House, lakes and reservoirs and so much more to explore.
The routes are a wide and varied range of secondary roads, MTB trails and traffic free trails such as the Monsal, High Peak or Tissington trails. The secondary roads are perfect for hybrid, racing bikes or MTB – the region has it all for all levels.
There are many local cafes, tea rooms, farm shops and renowned family-owned pubs offering great home cooked food – you’ll be spoilt for choice. Enjoy some of the area’s local delicacies such as ice creams made on the farm, speciality cheeses and beers from local microbreweries.
The hospitality of the Peak District and its stunning landscape was the reason why I brought the famous Eroica Britannia event from Tuscany to Bakewell, running this event from 2014 – 19 www.eroicabritannia.co.uk. Now I am extending that welcome to all cyclists, whatever your ability.
I have spent all my life cycling in the Peak District as I live just on the border of the National Park. After running a cycle touring business in Italy for the last 10 years I have used my wealth of experience to develop this local UK programme.
The Peak District is an all year round cycling destination for Road, Hybrid or MTB , I’m developing year-round cycling breaks in the Peak District as the area offers such great cycling, varied terrain , spectacular views and quaint villages plus of course great local beer and home cooked food.
Depending on your requirements I can provide:
• Collection at the nearest train station (eg Sheffield, Chesterfield, Matlock or any on the Hope Valley line)
• Accommodation – a wide choice depends where you would like to be based (my local knowledge can help with your decision)
• Electric MTB bike rental
• Guided or self guided routes for Hybrid / Racing bike / MTB
• Recommendation of places to visit for coffee breaks , lunch stop options and places of interest.
• GPS routes for daily rides
Whether it’s a family-friendly cycle ride on a traffic-free trail, or some more challenging mountain biking on rugged terrain that you’re after, the Peak District and Derbyshire offers stunning cycle routes to suit all abilities.
